Why Daredevil and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Should Team Up

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were strongly influenced by Daredevil. It’s about time that the reptiles return the favor with the crossover.

There have been numerous crossovers between Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other franchises over the years. The TMNT has had many encounters with other franchises, ranging from regular encounters with Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo universe and special events featuring superheroes like Batman. One crossover, however, would make perfect sense for reptile Ninjas to make them fully connected to their comic book roots.

Daredevil is an individual character Heroes in a Half Shell will meet. This is an appropriate tribute to the Marvel superhero who served as an inspiration to the characters. Many of the characters and places from Daredevil’s collections would blend well with the Turtles’. This shared resemblance could be a great method of highlighting how similar the characters are and highlighting their distinct differences.

The TMNT’s New York Is A Perfect Alternative to Daredevil’s Hell’s Kitchen

Both Daredevil as well as TMNT are ninja-like heroes based out of New York City, in settings that have science fiction and fantasy elements. They have a common ancestor in which they are exposed to radioactive material and learn with mentors named after sticks. The Foot Clan and Hand, respectively, are the principal enemies of both. The meeting of the heroes could result in an alliance between villains which would highlight the differentiators between them. This would be particularly troublesome since the focus of the Hand and the Foot on technology and dark magic will both benefit the evil group’s goals of world dominance.

The similarities between the Turtles and Daredevil will result in many great characters and their interactions. Daredevil lives in a world filled with mutants and the fantastic, so pairing Daredevil with four of the mutant heroes isn’t at all difficult. Matt Murdock has defended rare characters such as Spider-Man and Hulk before the courts. In addition, the Turtles were friends with a character who was blind in the 2012 animated TV series and accepting the blind friend was a no-brainer for both characters. Because they have shared experiences in fighting evil ninjas it would be fascinating to team up with the heroes. The two could have a meeting to find out the perpetrators of their crimes. It’s also an ideal opportunity to study the styles of mentorship between the fatherly Splinters and the more brutal Sticks.

Daredevil crosses the TMNT with Daredevil Honors Themselves’ Roots

Daredevil and TMNT can team up to make a captivating story. They would also have the honor of revisiting Turtles’ origins in comic books. In the creation of Mirage, Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman were greatly inspired by Daredevil. A lot of the common features in the different franchises are due to this, including the arch adversaries and mentor characters. The most important, but significant connection, however, is the common beginning with canisters from an accident. The Turtle’s source is very like the origin of Daredevil in that the blind man is crossing the path of the bystander.

In the end, there’s no reason that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Daredevil could not compete with everything they have to offer. Both franchises share bases to make a crossover between them exciting and it could bring the Turtles into contact with their origins. It would demonstrate how far TMNT have advanced in their series and how they can now stand alone from, the history of Marvel’s superhero.
